The King of Shoes Manolo Blahnik designs his collections with a story in mind

Manolo Blahnik has fans that include celebrities, royalty and personalities such as Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour who said, “To be a great designer, great creator, you have to be interested in the world and history and people.”

For this season’s collection Blahnik is inspired by the excessive Belle Epoch era with a nod to designers such as Paul Poiret, Madeleine Vionnet and other icons. Through Blahnik’s eyes these inspirations are turned into works-of-art through the use of piping with cotton velvet and silk cord in contrasting colours as well as angular cut- outs, stripes, suede and textured gold bands and more.
